Sonam Kapoor will be marrying her prince charming and long-time rumoured beau Anand Ahuja in a beautiful Punjabi wedding on May 8th in Mumbai. While the preparations for making the couple’s D-day one of the most memorable moments are going on in full swing, the father of the bride Anil Kapoor has approached designer Raghavendra Rathore to design the bride and the groom’s wedding ensembles.

As per reports, Anil chose Raghavendra as he shares an extremely close bond with the ace designer. The ‘Fanne Khan’ actor had also walked the ramp as the showstopper for the designer last year. Not only Anil Kapoor, but the bride’s brother Harshvardhan Kapoor also complied with his dad’s choice of designer.

With the wedding madness is taking over the Kapoor household in Juhu, fans are extremely eager to see the style diva Sonam in her wedding attire. While the wedding ceremony is supposedly a low-key affair, the mehndi and sangeet ceremony which is sheduled a day prior to the wedding which is on May 7th will be star-studded event with performances by Sonam’s cousins including Janhvi Kapoor. It is also reported that Anil Kapoor, too, will be dancing to the tunes of his favourite songs during the happy occasion.

However, a source close to the development revealed to a media portal that owing Anushka and Virat’s jam-packed schedules, it is unlikely that the couple would make an appearance at the wedding. The source added that Anushka will be heading to Alabama soon for the actor's commitments for her upcoming film ‘Zero’ starring Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif. Virat, on the other hand, is busy with his ongoing cricket league.

A source close to the family said revealed that Anil is ecstatic about his performance on Sonam and Anand’s sangeet.

The wedding ceremony will take place at Sonam Kapoor’s aunt Kavita Singh’s residence and will be an afternoon wedding between 11 am to 12:30 pm. Sonam and Anand will exchange garlands at the temple in the bungalow.

Going by the pictures, the families have requested the presence of their guests for three functions – the mehendi ceremony, wedding and a party. The dress code for the three days ranges from Indian festive shades of white to traditional Indian attire and Western formals.

Known to show affection towards each other on social media, the soon-to-be-married couple engaged in a cute conversation on Instagram post the official announcement about their wedding. The Delhi based business tycoon posted a quote, “Those who don’t believe in MAGIC will never find it,” by Roald Dahl on Instagram yesterday, after making the big wedding announcement. He captioned it as, “One idea that has always amazed me is, ‘if we can all make one, just ONE person happy, the whole world would be happy.’ How true and simple is that. The answer to world peace is simply loving those around you.”

To this Sonam Kapoor replied back, “#everydayphenomenal.” To the ones who haven’t been regularly checking out the couple’s social media updates, #everydayphenomenal is their personal hashtag which they use whenever they post pictures with each other on social media.

The preparations for the biggest star wedding of the year are already in full swing as the bride Sonam Kapoor is back home a week ahead of her big day. According to reports, the mehendi ceremony will be held at Sonam’s aunt’s luxurious residence in Bandra on May 7 and all, from Karan Johar to Arjun Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor will be seen grooving at the do.

Sonam Kapoor is likely to get hitched to Anand in the month of May. Of late, the speculations of the destination of their much-awaited wedding have been doing the rounds. However, as per recent developments, the two are likely to get married in Mumbai itself and the preparations for the same have already begun.

Reportedly, Sonam and Anand will tie the knot in Mumbai on May 7, 2018. Although the ‘Neerja’ actor is too occupied with the promotions of her upcoming movie ‘Veere Di Wedding’, the wedding queries seem to be unending.

Earlier when Sonam was asked about her wedding plans, she reportedly professed that she thinks the whole idea of a marriage is more appealing to her than a wedding. She thinks there is too much money spent; it’s all very crass, and she would rather give that money away. She’d rather have a wedding at home than anywhere else. She believes that it’s important to do all the rituals. Sonam mentioned that she doesn’t believe in spending all that money, she finds it disgusting and very wasteful, and that she isn’t okay with that at all.
